Wurlitzer Band Organ e-Roll Archive

This is an archive of Wurlitzer Band Organ Music Rolls in e-Roll format.
These e-rolls contain all of their original controls.

I have produced two players, eplayOrgan and eplay, which can play these e-rolls.
The best way to play these rolls (as of February 2020) is to use eplayOrgan. Other players have not been updated recently.

Download eplayOrgan Plays Wurlitzer and Estey e-rolls on any Hauptwerk, Miditzer or other organ.
eplayOrgan run on Windows and under Wine on iMac and most Linux systems.

Both players use Rich Olsen's sound fonts, widely acknowledged to be the best.

Note: These rolls will play correctly on eplayOrgan's Violano if you change the file extension to .wvv - see eplayOrgan Help/Appendix 8 for details. w125 rolls can also be filtered to play on a Mills Violano Virtuoso which has been converted to play midi files. I have now completed playing all of the above Wurlitzer 165 e-rolls using eplayWin32 Version 3.2 (With the new algorithm) and eplayOrgan Version 1.0d. All the w165 e-rolls play with convincing accuracy with the exception of those listed below.

w165 e-roll playing error list

All e-rolls in this error list have melody notes being played without any melody stops being set. I suspect most casual listeners would not notice this and in some cases the "errors" were present when the roll was initially issued.
Causes of errors and proposed corrective actions are indicated in the list.

6501-04 ** VERY short duration scanning glitch. Action: delete glitch. Later cancel is clearly intended. Action none.
6513-01 ** Cancel followed by gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
-08 ** Cancel followed by long gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
6514-01 ** Cancel followed by long gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
-04 ** Cancel followed by long gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
-07 ** Cancel followed by gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
-08 ** Cancel followed by gap with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancel forward.
-09 ** Several times cancels are followed by gaps with nothing, then stops are set. Action: move cancels forward.
6516-07 ** VERY short duration scanning glitch. Action: delete glitch.
6519-09 ** A bit strange but clearly intended. Action: none.
6526-01 ** Clearly intended. Action: none.
-06 ** VERY short duration scanning glitch. Action: delete glitch.
6554-10 ** Occurs four times and is clearly not an error. Action: none.

NOTE: The corrected versions are now on line and there is no reason to think that moving the cancels will prevent the rolls from continuing to play correctly on a real Wurlitzer 165.
